The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (CPI) is the central Slovenian institution in the field of vocational education and training. It is responsible for linking social partners, and provides support in developmental, research, implementing and systemic processes that contribute to the quality of vocational education and training for the citizens of Slovenia in the context of lifelong learning.

CPI conducts research, development and consulting in the field of vocational and technical education.

We are the central national institution in the field of vocational education and training responsible for linking social partners, and providing support in developmental, research, implementing and systemic processes that contribute to the quality of vocational education and training.
Since its establishment, CPI has worked with various ministries, employers, chambers, schools, associations and other organizations.
CPI collaborate with Chamber of industry (GZS) and Chamber of crafts (OZS) and with training providers in order to assure the quality of practical training in companies. CPI is preparing training standards, assessment requirements and guidelines to implement practical training. CPI regularly monitor the quality of practical training and prepare reports to the ministry of education. CPI collaborates with CEDEFOP in the thematic country review of apprenticeship in Slovenia and leads the pilot implementation of new apprenticeship form of vocational education in Slovenia.

CPI coordinates the development of new and revised occupational standards as a basis for curricula development and system of validation in a context of national system of qualifications in the Republic of Slovenia. CPI is a national coordination point for EQF and hosts the National Europass Centre.
